Only Situations come to us not the problems. If we are not well equipped mentally to handle them, they become problems. The maturity to understand this comes only through our scriptures and Guru.
ReplyDeleteWe had blessed opportunities to host Swami Swaroopananda ji during Swamiji’s visit to NewJersey. Swamiji’s schedule was extremely busy throughout his stay. Swamiji is a visionary and always worked late hours in the night. It was amazing to see Swamiji’s dynamism in all his undertakings.
In one of the interviews, Swamiji mentions that he had episodes of sickness which made him impossible to move out of his bed or even take few steps for months. But with Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda ji’s presence and blessings he would gather the energy and overcome all the obstacles in his path to fulfill his responsibilities. Gurudev’s advice to Swamiji was never to entertain a question of “why me?” in any situation, but keep continuing to work for the higher cause.
Swamiji still experiences these issues but never does he show a trace of pain in any of the encounters with his devotees. He greets everyone with a big pleasant smile and is very approachable. Certainly being with Swamiji and seeing him in action was very inspiring. Swamiji is definitely my role model. He speaks to me and empowers me via his books and teachings even now.
